A dumpling dish with a filling made with pork, veal, and parsley. They're then steamed directly in a comforting pomodoro sauce that's made in the steamer, a love letter to both Italian and Taiwanese tradition.

Ingredients

  • 1 batch of dumpling wrappers
  • 1/2 pound veal
  • 1/2 pound pork
  • 2 tablespoons flat leaf parsley
  • 3 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon of fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup grape tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic, grated
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Any fresh herb like basil, parsley or scallion
  • Chili crisp or olive oil to drizzle
